Problems with non-native English writing for native English speakers

Problems that can arise from non-native English (non-NE) writing don’t only affect non-NE readers. They impact on native English readers too. Problems include:

we can’t understand some or any of the non-NE writer’s writing;

we almost understand what is meant but don’t ask questions as we should (either out of goodwill or because we can’t be bothered);

the wrong meaning then continues to be communicated which can lead to all sorts of problems.
